What are your fitness goals for this week!

Whatever a Sistas goals are for losing weight, increasing endurance or losing extra pounds, it's important to tailor your workout to fit your goals. It sounds easier said then done, but everyone begins a fitness program finds that they are more able to stay on track by simply writing down daily goals to reach their objectives. Take a good look at your goals to make sure that, a) they're realistic, and b) you know exactly how to reach them. Keep positive people around you and stay positive yourself. You will get better results from this both physically and mentally. Now let's Keep It Moving!

  1. It's definitely important to surround yourself with positive, supportive people, especially if trying to lose weight. They're less likely to steer you off track. Only problem is, my hubby unintentionally tries to steer me off track all the time! LOL

  2. Husbands are happy that their wives are working out, but sometimes do not understand that it takes a team to make it happen. Make sure you keep him informed on everthing that you are working on to lose weight especially on those days where he wants you to eat poorly right along with him. They mean no harm, just don't know all of what we have to go through including cooking and eating totally different then he does.

  3. great post! It is so important to write down your short term goals. In addition, you should also speak your goals into existence! The vibration of your spoken words into the atmosphere will take your goals to a whole different level! Opportunities will come your way to assist you on your journey to reaching your fitness goal. Long term goals will come a whole lot easier when you have a good solid plan to reach them.

  4. I'm a type 2 diabetic. I am 5'9 and 280lbs. I just checked my sugar and it read 380. This week I will take meds and take them on time. I will drink more water and use splenda instead of regular sugar.

  6. I am on a renewed health and weight loss journey. After losing 48 pounds 1 1/2 years ago, I re-gained 20 so my goal is to lose 50 this time and then keep with a lifestyle change, incorporating healthy eating, drinking, and exercise habits forever. This week I will exercise an hour a day for 4-5 days, eat healthy, and pray every day for strength, guidance, and support to consume me.

  9. I want to add some 'stuff' to the mix. One is my 50-ish hubby having 3 heart attacks with an hereditary heart/cholesterol issue where his cholesterol was discovered to be 555. Now stents, medication and changes have helped. Our oldest son, at 33, has just had a heart attack in Jan 2013 and I nearly reached the 300 lb mark. In the past year we have collectively lost nearly 200 lbs between us. But I had gastric bypass to great success. The year prior I devoted to exercise and eating better and it has served me well. Now Hubby and I are water aerobics-aholics and bike/dance and walk weekly. Exercise is the key to ANY weight loss approach. We have energy and happiness. That is worth it any day. Our goal? Live/love life in our fifties, sixties and beyond.

  10. One more thing - I started a new 'black' ladies walking club at work which has been so rewarding. We get to come together, chat, walk and hold each other up where there was no support before. It ain't just for us, but we get the greatest reward by coming together where that didn't happen ever before. Love those ladies! We DOIN' it! Together.
